Accessiblity Statement
Getting help shouldn't start with a barrier. On The Horizon Counseling, PLLC is committed to making this website, and the care behind it, usable for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice controls, captions, or other assistive tools.
The Standard We Work Toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the benchmark most commonly used under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and we apply parts of WCAG 2.2 where we can. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a box we checked once, so we review the site when we add new pages, forms, or features.
What We Do to Keep This Site Accessible
We build and maintain this site with accessibility in mind, including:

-
A clear heading structure on every page, so screen readers and keyboard users can move through content easily
-
Descriptive text for images and meaningful link text, rather than "click here"
-
Text and background color combinations chosen for readable contrast
-
Navigation, buttons, and forms that can be used with a keyboard alone
-
Plain, warm language that avoids unnecessary jargon
Where We're Still Working
Some parts of this site rely on outside tools we don't fully control, including our scheduling and client portal through SimplePractice, embedded forms, and the Equity Rate Quiz. We choose these tools carefully, but they may not meet every accessibility standard. If you run into a problem with any of them, tell us and we will help you complete what you came to do another way.
Other Ways to Reach Us or Get Care
If any part of this website makes it hard to book or get in touch, you can call 984-207-6175 or email info@othcounseling.org, and we will help you directly. Sessions are offered in person in Raleigh and virtually across North Carolina and South Carolina, so you can choose the format that works for your body and your life. If you need an accommodation for sessions, such as a different format, pacing, or communication method, let us know through the [Contact] page and we will work with you.
Tell Us What You Ran Into
If you find something on this site that isn't accessible, please tell us what page you were on, what happened, and what device or assistive technology you were using. Reach us through the [Contact] page, by phone at 984-207-6175, or by email at info@othcounseling.org. We aim to respond within [TWO] business days and to fix the issue as quickly as we reasonably can. You can also read how we handle your information in our Privacy Policy.
