MISCARRIAGE & PREGNANCY LOSS THERAPY IN RALEIGH, NC
A Space That Doesn't Rush Your Grief Toward Resolution
Loss doesn't move in a straight line, and it rarely looks the way people expect it to. This work makes room for whatever that actually looks like for you. In practice, that includes:
Naming the specific loss and what it meant, without minimizing it
Making space for contradiction: grief and gratitude, hope and fear, all at once
Supporting you and your partner even if you're grieving differently

SIGNS OF GRIEF, GUILT & DISCONNECTION AFTER PREGNANCY LOSS
You're Allowed to Grieve Someone Other People Didn't Get to Meet
Maybe the people around you moved on faster than you did, or never fully acknowledged what you lost in the first place. Maybe pregnancy announcements or baby showers have become something you have to brace for. Maybe you don't trust your own body anymore, or you're carrying guilt for feelings you didn't expect, relief, anger, or numbness, alongside the grief. None of that makes you broken. It means the loss was real, even if the world around you moved past it quickly. Pregnancy loss, infertility, and perinatal challenges can impact every part of your life, including your relationship, your identity, and your sense of safety in your body.
This work doesn't ask you to move on. It helps you carry it differently:
Naming grief that others minimized or rushed
Feeling less alone when you and your partner grieve differently
Rebuilding trust in your body after loss
Finding language for what you're carrying, even the parts that don't feel acceptable to say out loud
Facing future pregnancy or family planning with more support, not less

PMHC-INFORMED, SOMATIC & EFCT-BASED GRIEF THERAPY
Why This Work Treats Grief as Something to Carry, Not Something to Fix
Pregnancy loss therapy here draws from Perinatal Mental Health Certification training, somatic work, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, approaches chosen because grief lives in the body as much as the mind. Somatic work helps you process what's stored physically, PMHC training grounds the work in the specific realities of reproductive loss that general therapy training often misses, and Emotionally Focused Therapy helps couples stay connected instead of grieving in isolation from each other. If you're also navigating an active pregnancy or postpartum period after loss, the Perinatal Therapy page may be relevant too.
